Who We Are

A Time To Live is a shelter support group that stands beside the Clark County. Animal Shelter in Winchester, Kentucky by helping with the needs of the shelter animals. Our volunteers are focusing on decreasing the shelter's population by placing animals in reputable rescues or responsible forever homes. Volunteers organize events that raise public awareness of the adoptable homeless animals at the shelter. Volunteers work with rescues and transport shelter animals. all funds go toward helping the Clark Co. shelter animals.

August Update



August 5, 6pm at the Cairn we will hold our monthly meeting. Please join us to learn what we do and how you can get involved!


Foster Homes- We are always in need of foster homes, short term for animals waiting to be transported to their waiting rescues and longer term for animals with medical issues or waiting to find their forever home locally. Medical care, food, collar, leash, name tag and crate are provided. Please email info@atimetolive.net if you would like a foster application.

August 9- Join us at Tractor Supply in Winchester, 8am-2pm (Weather permitting). We will have adoptable animals from the Clark County Animal Shelter and will be accepting donations. Please stop by to see us!

Annual Yard Sale!- August 29,30 & 31- This is our biggest fundraiser of the year! During the Pioneer Festival we will be having a yard sale. All money raised will benefit Clark County Shelter Animals. Please show your support by donating items or stopping by to shop with us!

Pioneer Festival- Come visit our booth at the Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival in Winchester August 30 & 31. We will have adoptable animals on site along with lots of information about how you can get involved. Our Booth is located near the college library building.

Cruisin' for Critters Motorcycle Charity Ride, June 7, kickstand up at 12noon- All riders welcome! This year we will start at Clark Energy Cooperative, take a scenic ride through the Daniel Boone National Forest and end with a cookout and bike show at the Winchester Walmart. 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies will be awarded at the bike show.For more info please email info@atimetolive.net. We are also looking for sponsorships! Be a ride sponsor with your 1 time donation of $100 or donate an item to be given away as a door prize. Businesses are also welcome to set up booths during the bike show. Please email us at info@atimetolive.net if you would like to get involved.

53 Foster Animals (10 Foster to Adopt, 36 Foster to Rescue, 7 currently in foster)
109 Clark County Shelter Animals transported to rescue, $7,540.00 paid to the Shelter for adoption fees
16 Transports Completed, $3,461.53 in gas

April Reports

Alison Rose gave up birthday presents and instead collected kitten food to be used for the homeless kittens at the Clark County Animal Shelter and in A Time To Live's foster care. Alison collected over 85 bags for a total of more than 750lbs of food! We really appreciate Alison and her family for taking on this awesome project! If you would like to donate to Alison's cause you can still send a tax deductible donation to A Time To Live, P.O. Scentsy Fundraiser- Thanks to Scentsy Independent Consultant, Ray Aldridge we had a wonderful time at our Scentsy party and met some great people! Donna Mayfield presented Outstanding Young Citizen awards to Lauren Clem, Dakota Craycraft and Alison Rose for collecting supplies for the animal shelter on their birthdays! Scentsy Fundraiser April 29, 6:00pm- Scentsy Independent Consultant, Ray Aldridge has been very generous to us by donating giveaway items, gift certificates and even setting up with us at events. April 2014 Updates


So many great thing are going on for the Clark County Shelter animals.

Alison Rose has decided to give up her birthday presents and instead collect bags of Purina Kitten Chow! The food will be used for kittens at the shelter and in foster care. If you are interested in donating you can drop off bags of food at Shampoodles, A Diamond In The Ruff, Clark County Sheriff's Office or Created by you through April 21. Alison will be at Tractor Supply Saturday, April 19 from 10am-2pm if you would like to meet her! You may also call her mom, Jennifer at (859)749-4895 to arrange pick up of donations.

Thanks to the high school girls' bible study group that made pet treats and put together Pet Easter Baskets for us! They were a huge hit and we sold out with just a couple hours! 

Winchester Federal Bank sponsored a Community All Star Award. Through a Facebook contest local organizations were nominated and voted on. A Time To Live was chosen as the winner! A Time To Live was given a plaque and $450 along with having a picture and article published in the Winchester Sun! The funds were used to help with medical needs of the shelter animals. Please be sure to let Winchester Federal Bank know how much we appreciate this award!

Scentsy Fundraiser- Independent Consultant, Ray Aldridge has set up a great fundraiser for A Time To Live. 25% of purchases made through A Time To Live during March and April will be donated back to A Tome To Live! We all need some smell goods, so visit Ray's Scentsy site www.candlewarmersandgift.com and select A Time To Live as your party to shop online or just browse online and place your order with a member of A Time To Live to avoid shipping charges! Ray will be set up with a complete display of Scentsy with us at Winchester Tractor Supply April 19, 10am-2pm.
